Prince is advising the Haitian government and its under-resourced police force on addressing the ongoing violence involving street gangs, which has resulted in numerous casualties, injuries, and abductions. A special task force, supported by international partners and experts, has been established to lead the effort, utilizing tools such as drones. According to a source, while no gang leaders have been neutralized, several senior gang members have been killed or injured, and the police are beginning to apply significant pressure, with expectations of improvement in the coming months.
Security experts reported to the New York Times that Prince is recruiting Haitian-American military veterans, with plans to deploy up to 150 personnel to Port-au-Prince over the summer and has recently shipped a substantial amount of weapons to Haiti.
Rod Joseph, a Haitian-American Army veteran and owner of a Florida-based security training company, confirmed to the New York Times that he has been in discussions with Prince since late last year to assist in providing personnel for this initiative.
